Everything you need to know about Chorustr
You need two things:
When you first open the app, you'll be asked to sign in with your Apple or Google account.
After signing in, the app will prompt you to enter your choir code. Type in the code your choir leader has given you, select your voice part, and your songs will start downloading straight away.
The app is free to download and use as a choir member.
Songs sync automatically each time you open the app while connected. You can also trigger a sync at any time by dragging the song list down to refresh it.
Yes, in two ways. You can set a default part in Settings, which applies to all songs. You can also switch your part for an individual song directly in the player — this overrides your default for that song only, without changing it everywhere else.
Tap the playback mode button in the player to cycle through three modes:
Section markers are named bookmarks within a song. Your choir leader can create them (Intro, Verse 1, Chorus…) so all members can jump to and loop any section. You can also create your own private markers for personal practice.
Markers appear as a row of buttons in the player — tap one to jump straight there, tap it again to start looping that section, and tap once more to stop looping.
By default Loop Markers are not visible in the app. Go to the Settings tab and switch on Loop Markers to enable them.
To create your own marker:
To edit or delete a marker, press and hold it.
The songs tab has two modes, switchable from the toggle at the top of the screen:
Tap the mix icon in the player to cycle through presets. The two core presets are available for all songs:
Two additional presets are available for Mixable songs, and must be unlocked by enabling Advanced Mixer Presets in Settings:
Some songs are provided by your choir leader as "stem tracks" — separate recordings for each voice part. When this is the case, the app unlocks a live mixer that lets you use a slider to balance your part against the rest of the choir, giving you more fine-grained control than the four presets alone.
Songs that support live mixing are marked as Mixable in the song list.
Live mixing is only available for songs where your choir leader has uploaded individual stem tracks. Songs without stems support the All Parts and Emphasised presets, but the full mixer and the Solo/Muted presets won't appear. Look for the Mixable badge in the song list to see which songs support it.
Yes. Songs are downloaded to your device the first time you open the app while connected. Once downloaded, you can practice anywhere — on the train, in the car, wherever — with no internet required.
Yes. You can choose from three modes in Settings › Cellular Data:
Data Saver is a good middle ground if you want to stay up to date on the go without using too much mobile data.
First, double-check the choir code with your choir leader — codes are always uppercase. Make sure you're connected to the internet when you enter it.
If the code is correct and you're still having trouble, contact us at support@chorustr.com and we'll help you get sorted.
If you want to leave a choir and join another Chorustr choir, press the Leave Choir option in the My Choir page. You'll be prompted to enter a new choir code which you can obtain from your choir leader.
You can delete your account by going to Settings › Account and pressing Delete Account. You'll immediately be deleted from our system including any stored settings and choir memberships. This action is not reversible.
