How Chorustr handles your personal data
This policy covers everyone who creates a Chorustr account — both choir members (singers who join a choir to access practice materials) and choir leaders (organisers who create and manage choirs). Where there are differences between the two roles, they are noted below.
When you create a Chorustr account we collect the following personal data:
Choir leaders additionally have their choir management activity recorded (choirs created, claimed, or transferred).
We do not collect your credentials, your device advertising ID, or any information about how you use the app beyond what is described above.
Your data is used solely for choir administration:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to running Chorustr. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except as described under "Service providers" below.
Chorustr uses Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. When you sign in, you are redirected to Apple or Google to authorise the app. We never see your Apple or Google password. The identity information Apple or Google returns to us (your name and email) is governed by their respective privacy policies:
Chorustr is built on Google Firebase, which provides our authentication service (Firebase Auth) and database (Firestore). Your account data is stored in Firebase infrastructure located in the EU (europe-west2 region). Google processes this data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement and does not use it for its own purposes.
Practice audio files are stored in and delivered from Dropbox. Chorustr holds a service-account token that allows the API to generate short-lived, per-file download links for your choir's content. Your individual identity is not shared with Dropbox.
Your personal data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account:
Deletion is irreversible. You are free to create a new Chorustr account at any time. We do not retain backups of individual account data beyond our standard database backup window (30 days), after which all traces are gone.
You can delete your account at any time. There are two ways to do this:
You also have the right to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you. To request this, email support@chorustr.com.
The practice tracks available in the app are provided by your choir leader. Chorustr does not own or have any responsibility for the copyright of audio content shared by choir leaders. By joining a choir you agree to any licence terms your choir leader applies to those materials.
If we make material changes to this policy we will notify you via the app before the changes take effect and, where required by law, ask for your renewed consent.
Chorustr is operated by George Mackenney, based in the United Kingdom. For any questions or requests relating to this policy or your personal data, contact us at support@chorustr.com.
