For choir leaders

Your files stay yours.

Your music lives in a Dropbox folder you own. Chorustr reads it so your singers can practise, and it doesn’t keep a copy.

Where your files live

In your Dropbox, not on our servers.

Your audio, scores and other files stay in the Dropbox folder you set up. Chorustr’s servers don’t download or keep them. When a singer opens a song, their phone downloads it from Dropbox through a short-lived link.

  • You choose the folder and you control it.
  • Singers’ phones download from Dropbox, not from Chorustr.
  • Download links are short-lived, so they stop working after a few hours.

What Chorustr can see

One folder, read-only.

Chorustr reads the folder you share with it, so it can list your songs and create those download links. It only reads. It doesn’t change or delete your files.

It keeps details about your songs, such as file names, so the app can show your repertoire. It doesn’t keep the files themselves.

  • Read-only access to the one folder you share.
  • Details such as file names are kept so the app can list your songs.
  • No audio, scores or other files are stored by Chorustr.

Managed your way

Add and change files in Dropbox, as you always have.

Keep organising your music the way you do now. Add or replace files in Dropbox as you normally would, and the dashboard’s Check for updates button picks up the changes. Which songs your choir works on is a separate choice you make with the Practicing switches.

If you stop using Chorustr

Your files are exactly where you left them.

They stay in your Dropbox and remain yours. Chorustr stops reading them, and its account is removed from your folder’s sharing.

The detail, and what else we do to protect your material.

The Dropbox notice sets out exactly what we store and why. The next page covers how your material is protected once singers have it.
